Job Summary

Battelles Energy Division is currently seeking a

Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Professional . This position located in

Columbus, OH or Houston, TX , but will consider remote locations.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Professional to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our CCUS operations comply with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.

The position requires working in remote locations for extended periods and be on call for emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage QHSE programs and policies in line with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with QHSE standards and identify potential hazards.
  • Provide guidance and advice on QHSE matters to the drilling team and management.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Organize and deliver QHSE training to employees and contractors.
  • Prepare reports on QHSE performance and initiatives for management review.
  • Stay up-to-date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all QHSE legislation pertinent to the company.
  • This role requires working in outdoor environments and potentially hazardous conditions.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field with 8 years of experience in an HSE role within the oil and gas industry, drilling operations.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
  • Strong knowledge of QHSE regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suiter and QHSE management systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • The candidate must be physically fit to navigate the drilling site, including climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Travel required, up to 50%.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
