PURPOSE
Assists Outside Sales team in selling building products and services to business and industrial establishments or individuals. Provides accurate and timely support to the outside sales team, other members of the inside sales team, and customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handles incoming communication from Customers and Sales team and provides requested information in a timely and efficient manner. Provides information on topics such as pricing, availability, specifications, special order material, and delivery.
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
- Creates Quotes, Orders, Purchase Orders, etc. in ERP
- Monitors scheduled shipping dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite, as needed.
- Investigates customer concerns. Relays information to others on the sales team and assists in resolving the issue.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma or GED; three to six months related selling experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior building materials industry experience preferred.

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
