OHLA USA seeks a full time onsite Survey CAD Engineer.

The Survey CAD Engineer will primarily work out of Irvine, CA, frequent commuting to jobs sites throughtout Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego will be required.


Responsibilities:

CAD Design and Drafting:


Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D) to produce accurate and detailed drawings, plans, and schematics for civil construction projects.

Translate conceptual designs and engineering specifications into practical, feasible CAD models.

Collaborate with civil engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and design constraints.

Technical Analysis and Problem-Solving:
Conduct technical analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate design alternatives and optimize construction plans.

Identify and resolve design conflicts or discrepancies through proactive problem-solving and coordination with project stakeholders.

Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive documentation, including design calculations, technical reports, and drawing sets, to support the construction process.

Maintain accurate records of design iterations, revisions, and project milestones.

Generate material quantity estimates and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and project proposals.

Collaboration and Communication:
Foster effective communication and collaboration within multidisciplinary project teams, including architects, structural engineers, contractors, and clients.

Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site visits to provide technical expertise and support project coordination.

Communicate project progress, challenges, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
Implement quality assurance processes to verify the accuracy and integrity of CAD designs and construction documents.

Stay updated on advancements in CAD technology, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements relevant to civil construction engineering.

Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the CAD design workflow.

Qualifications:
5+ years of Cad Engineering experience

High skill level in CAD software, 3D Modeling, AutoCAD (MicroStation, Civil packages) required, Bluebeam a plus

Ability to read and understand multi discipline Civil Engineering Plans

Basic knowledge of Civil Engineering Concepts, Basic knowledge of tasks used for the construction of Bridges, Retaining Walls, Roads and Utilities

Basic understanding of Survey principles and use of field gathered survey data

Skilled in use of Networked PC's and File Management

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)

Drone certified remote pilot, preferred

Compensation:

The base annual salary rate being offered for this position is USD $80,000.00 per year to USD $95,000.00 per year.

Please note that the salary range listed is specific to the role listed in California.

Salary rates may vary for different individuals in the same role based on various factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, and performance.
