Job Description

As an Inside Sales Business Development Representative (ISBDR), you will have a crucial role in the sales team. You will be part of a remarkable group of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) specializing in H. B. Fuller products, who identify and assess customer opportunities with our targeted prospects in the United States and Canada, mainly through phone calls and online tools. Your main task will be to create a top-notch pipeline for our field and Inside Sales Account Managers so they can meet or exceed their objectives.

In this position, you will lead outreach campaigns to enterprise customers, uncovering market share, applications at companies, purchasing trends/best practices, and devising growth strategies.

ISBDMs must be self-driven with the ability to take the first step and launch new initiatives. It is also essential to be resilient, capable of handling rejections but keeping the right attitude to progress and engage potential customers in meaningful conversations that highlight the value H.B. Fuller can offer to their operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reaching out to new companies, delivering presentations to potential companies, negotiating, and influencing pricing and strategies
  • Establishing and expanding new and existing strategic partnerships through cold calling, market research, and lead sourcing to maximize the chance of a long-term and beneficial collaboration
  • Reporting to the Business Leadership Team on the progress of ongoing deals and the forecast of future opportunities
  • Securing customer support and approval by engaging in technical conversations to identify requirements and expectations, and then exploring product and service solutions effectively
  • Influencing and aligning with both external and internal key decision-makers and influencers at all levels of an organization
  • Conducting web research and identifying potential companies
  • Recording all prospecting information in our CRM system
  • Achieving the required number of companies to prospect
  • Reaching the targeted number of qualified accounts and the value of new business opportunities in the pipeline
  • Meeting the annual sales target
  • Occasionally visiting customer sites or attending fairs as necessary (5-10% of the time)

Minimum Requirements

  • 2-4 years of professional sales experience, driving new business opportunities across multiple technical product lines/categories, preferably in the industrial chemical sector
  • Bachelor's Degree preferable (Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field)
  • Demonstrated expertise in sales, prospecting, and new business development
  • Ability to influence over the phone, identify and connect with decision-makers, and close sales
  • Strong computer skills, especially in MS Office, databases, and other internet-based tools
  • Capability to sell to various levels within organizations
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, well-organized, process-driven, producing accurate and timely reports
