We are seeking an individual to join our sales and product development team as the executive assistant to the CEO. We work with some notable wholesalers in the nation. You will work directly under the head product developer and sales leader.

Our company designs, produces, and sells indoor and outdoor decorations for holidays, lawn and garden. You will assist with development and design of the products from ground up. This entail working closely with the buyers and designers and traveling to factories in Asia. You will also assist with selling the products and maintaining the relationship we have established with the buyers.

The candidate for this position is required to travel 2-4 times a year to oversea factories and trade shows. The trade shows are a great way to keep up with market trends and meet with various manufacturers of goods. We are a small corporation and have been in business since mid 1980. This individual will have the opportunity to learn side-by-side with owner, buyers and vendors to design, implement, and finalize products.

Responsibilities:

  • Create functional and salable products
  • Develop a robust stream of new items, which can replace current products and/or add varieties to product offerings. Ensure products recommended for development meet consumer consumption patterns and maintain company profitability
  • Utilize your artistic talent to create and market the products
  • Improves product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and resolving design/quality problems; improving product packaging; coordinating new product development.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Work with clients to refine designs and secure final approval for production
  • Collaborate with fellow designers, buyers, and manager
  • Work directly with factories to bring ideas to life
  • Travel
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending trade shows, meetings, and events related to our business
  • Set up , prepare presentation, and take notes at meetings with clients. Prepare recap from meetings
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in design, research, or other related field
  • Familiar with production process and procedures
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel abroad
  • Strong analytical and computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail, time management and the ability to coordinate activities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, including written and verbal.
  • Must initiate sales and build relationship with future customers
  • Self-motivated team player – with the ability to inspire and motivate
  • Exceptional work ethic
