Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct nursing care following established policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions effectively.
  • Evaluates and revises patient care plans to ensure desired outcomes.
  • Acts as a central coordinator for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in compliance with protocols.
  • Collaborates with healthcare team members for patient discharge planning.
  • Identifies educational needs of patients and their families, providing appropriate teaching materials.
  • Maintains professional growth through ongoing education and training.
  • Carries out other assigned duties.

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school. BSN preferred.

Certifications:

  • Must hold current state RN licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. ACLS certification may be necessary based on the work area.
  • Various specialized certifications are required depending on the work area.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking and the ability to work independently.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Work Experience:

  • At least one year of acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.
  • Military RN experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements:

  • Involves physical tasks such as patient handling, walking, and standing for extended periods.

  • Exposure to infectious diseases and body fluids.
  • Requires lifting of weights up to a certain limit.
