**Development Management Team Leader (Planning)

Richmond**
Role Summary:


As the Development Management Team Leader you will work within the Development Management Team to assist the Planning Manager in the delivery of the development management aspects of the Planning Service and to support the Planning Manager in the delivery of technical Town and Country Planning advice.

The work includes preparing and presenting reports for Committee and Council meetings when required and assisting the Planning Manager in the management and development of staff within the planning team, including the development of appropriate training programmes.

IT skills and the ability to record information accurately are required, along with a flexible approach to work tasks; an ability to relate to the general public and good negotiating skills.

A current driving licence is also essential.

As the Development Management Team Leader you will also have line management responsibility of a team of Planning Enforcers, Enforcement Officers and Technical Staff.


Experience / Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject
  • Relevant post qualification experience with demonstrable achievement in professional work.
  • Experience of dealing with Major Planning Applications.
  • Experience of presenting to Planning Committee.
  • Planning Law and Development Management procedures.
  • Development and application of I.T. systems for Development Management.
  • Member of the RTPI or demonstrable evidence of working towards membership.
