Logistics Management Specialist at FAA, Western Service Area Technical Operations

Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist within the FAA, Western Service Area Technical Operations, Logistics Program at the District level.

Responsibilities F-Band:
  • Performs basic but progressively more difficult assignments under the close direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional.
  • Coordinates with a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional to plan time and use assigned resources to accomplish tasks.
  • Work is reviewed regularly during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness and all aspects of quality.
G-Band:
  • Performs a combination of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the general direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional.
  • Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team for projects/programs within a defined area of responsibility.
  • Applies experience and detailed knowledge applicable to his/her discipline to plan and accomplish assignments.
  • Reviews logistic program administrative guidance, obligations, and expenditures for compliance with laws and authorized funding.

May perform Contracting Officer Representative (COR) duties for various contracts. Conducts research and collects information in accordance with simplified acquisition guidelines. Contacts are primarily internal to the organizational unit. Work typically is reviewed frequently during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness and policy compliance.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, you must have general experience demonstrating the ability to analyze problems, organize work, and communicate effectively. Specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level is required.

Education:

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience. Official transcripts will be required prior to employment.

Additional Information:

Position may be subject to a background investigation. A one-year probationary period may be required. FAA policy limits certain outside employment and financial investments in aviation-related companies. DOT values equity, transparency, and diversity in its workforce. Current or Former Federal employees must submit required documentation for consideration.

Security Requirements:

Moderate Risk (5): This position requires completion and favorable adjudication of a Moderate Risk Background Investigation (Tier 2) background investigation prior to appointment.

This is a bargaining unit position represented by PASS: Regional Tech Ops and AEA.
