Saint Anselm College, a liberal arts college in the Catholic, Benedictine tradition, educating students for lives of meaning, leadership, and achievement, is seeking a Campus Minister for Faith Formation to join the Campus Ministry team. This position reports to the Director of Campus Ministry and is a member of the Student Affairs Division.

The campus minister works as a member of the Campus Ministry team, an integral part of life at a Catholic college. Campus Ministry at Saint Anselm College strives to be a home where all - students, staff, and faculty - can engage questions of faith and justice, worship and pray together, and serve communities near and far. Faithful to our Catholic and Benedictine identity, and informed by our desire to welcome all, the Campus Ministry team serves as a pastoral resource on campus and offers dynamic programs that respond to the needs of our campus community. Responsibilities include growing, promoting, and deepening Catholic life on campus by building an active faith and intellectual life among the college community while, at the same time, highlighting and supporting the diversity and inclusion not only of our Catholic Anselmians, but also those of other faith and spiritual traditions.

Successful candidates will be interested in joining a team committed to supporting young adults and members of the Saint Anselm community as they live out their faith while being engaged in higher education. Candidates will have strong relationship building skills and experience in building strong collaborations with other offices on campus. Candidates must also be routinely available to work irregular hours not limited to weekdays.

A master's degree in theology, education, religious education, or pastoral counseling, is preferred. A strong background in the Catholic intellectual and theological traditions is required. The candidate must be highly motivated, creative, and committed to Catholic higher education. Candidates will have demonstrated an ability to effectively engage young adults and communicate the Catholic faith tradition in a collaborative environment. Desirable candidates will have the experience and ability to develop religious literacy and have fluency in diversity and inclusion. They should possess exceptional interpersonal skills and enthusiasm.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate student faith groups
  • Coordinate O.C.I.A.
  • Lead staff/faculty wisdom sharing groups
  • Foster formation programs, learning opportunities, community building, and student leadership
  • Provide individual pastoral support and accompaniment for Anselmians
  • Recruit, select, train, develop and supervise student leaders
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, training, education, and development of student participants
  • Maintain and promote a calendar of religious observances across faith traditions
  • Advocate for Anslemians from faith traditions other than Catholic
  • Highlight other faith and spiritual traditions through social media posts, campus-wide emails, displays and campus collaborations
  • Participate regularly in the worship life of the college
  • Engage in discussions regarding the vision and priorities of Campus Ministry
  • Attend staff meetings and professional gatherings
  • Represent Campus Ministry at college functions, committees and activities as requested by the Director
  • Alongside the Campus Minister for Peace and Justice, this position is an integral partner in campus-wide discussions and strategies addressing student leadership development.
  • Confer regularly with the Director, other department staff and other college personnel to plan, coordinate and evaluate activities/projects/programs, exchange information, investigate and resolve problems, and the like
  • Maintain records and prepare reports pertaining to assigned areas of responsibility. This includes a regularly updated legacy/succession report
  • Work within an office-wide project management system
  • Administrative and functional supervision of student leaders and possibly student employees associated with specific support of these programs.
