Olympia, Washington, United States Cribl, Inc Full time

Cribl: The Place Where Innovation Meets Fun

At Cribl, we do things a bit differently. What does that mean? It means we are a company that takes its work seriously while also not forgetting to have a good laugh along the way. Currently, we are on the lookout for individuals who are not only driven to achieve results but also enjoy a good sense of humor.

We are at a stage of rapid growth and are in need of team players who are collaborative, curious, and motivated, with a strong passion for customer satisfaction. As a remote-first organization, we aim to empower our employees to deliver their best work from wherever they are.

As the crucial data engine for IT and Security sectors, Cribl is trusted by major players in the most demanding industries to tackle their critical data challenges.

Join Our Team: Exciting Engineering Manager Opportunity

Cribl Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager who is enthusiastic about enabling customers to manage, refine, analyze, and utilize their operational data effectively, irrespective of its location, format, or storage medium. In this role, you will lead a diverse, inclusive, and remote-first team of software developers dedicated to enhancing the Cribl Search product as part of our mission to unlock the value of all observability data.

Cribl Search revolutionizes observability by distributing queries to the data's original location, eliminating the need for costly data replication, centralized aggregation, or bulky host requirements to monitor deployed environments.

If you are interested in finding specific events, tracing executions, detecting threats, or analyzing metric trends from various data sources like EBS volumes, S3 buckets, Splunk, Azure blob stores, and more, all from a single dashboard, Cribl Search has the solution you need. This tool is a game-changer in assisting Cribl's ambition to become a central data engine for IT and security.

As the Engineering Manager, your primary responsibility will be to guide and nurture a team of frontend and/or backend software developers committed to delivering top-notch software that delights our customers. This fully remote position reports directly to the Cribl C021 organization, our internal innovation hub.

Your Role In a Nutshell

Your core duty is to construct and develop a cross-functional team capable of autonomous execution and maintaining end-to-end ownership of a substantial part of the Cribl Search product stack.

  • Building, coaching, mentoring, and expanding a multidisciplinary scrum team of exceptional engineers proficient in constructing scalable, extensible, and performant distributed data processing systems.
  • Establishing and upholding the standards for technical excellence in product development, emphasizing design, robustness, and code quality.
  • Leading the team throughout the lifecycle of the Cribl Search stack, spanning from concept development to maintenance.
  • Promoting a customer-centric approach by aligning your team's efforts with ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with fellow leaders to ensure alignment among Search teams and engaging in cross-functional initiatives with the wider Cribl Engineering team.
  • Developing a strong collaboration with product management and operations teams to refine, prioritize, and execute the Search roadmap.

If you have 4 or more years of progressive management experience, spanning from hiring and leading to nurturing and mentoring top talent, then you might be the perfect fit for this role at Cribl.
