The Corporate Controller is a strategic leader in the Finance and Accounting organization and throughout PCS Software. The Corporate Controller will lead a small, but highly effective team of professionals to deliver accurate financial results, operational excellence, and a scalable cross-functional platform to help drive PCS Softwares long-term growth.

This position reports directly to the CFO, who is also onsite in the Houston, Texas headquarters. We are targeting candidates who are extremely strong in their accounting management skills and have exposure to FP&A and are looking to grow their career as a Corporate Controller. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who has the technical knowledge and small team leadership experience but is still junior to mid-level career as a Corporate Controller, Junior Controller, or a very experienced Senior Accounting Manager, looking to make the next move in their career.The Corporate Controller is a Director level title equivalent in our organization and compensation will include base pay plus an annual discretionary bonus plan.

This position is on-site in our West Houston headquarters office 5 days a week. A remote arrangement is not available.

The Corporate Controller will lead from the front with a strong can-do attitude and a high degree of integrity. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage monthly revenue recognition and reporting.
  • Manage accounts payable, receivables, bank reconciliations, payroll accounting and related reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with sales and use tax filings.
  • Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce monthly financial and management reports and commentary in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Oversee treasury functions, cash forecasting and management, and banking relationships.
  • Manage customer and vendor contracts.
  • Support monthly and quarterly stakeholder meetings.
  • Support planning, forecasting, and decision-making activities with accurate business driver
  • narratives.
  • Manage annual audit, taxes, loan, and other compliance activities.
  • Support M&A projects, from due diligence to integration.
  • Define and execute automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members. You will have 1-3 direct reports.

Required Skills

  • Strong accounting skills with solid understanding of GAAP and ASC 606. CPA a plus.
  • Strong system skills, from design to quality control.
  • Proficiency in accounting policy and internal control design and execution.
  • Monthly close and full general ledger management.
  • Audit, tax, and other compliance activity management.
  • Effective communication skills across organizations and levels (including with investors and
  • board of directors).
  • Ability to analyze, forecast, and project business driver trajectory based on latest business.
  • momentum and initiative.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred.
  • Experience with a plus.
  • Experience working in the SaaS industry.

Essential Qualities

  • Degree in accounting or finance with strong accounting focus.
  • CPA preferred.
  • MBA or masters degree in accounting strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years progressive accounting and leadership experience, preferably at the corporate
  • level.
  • Prior SaaS/Software industry experience preferred.
  • An effective leader and strong influencer.
  • A self-starter, solution seeker, and player-coach.
  • Strong attention to detail while demonstrating a strategic mindset.
  • Efficiency focused and can balance effectively between producing near-term results and
  • scaling for long-term growth.
  • Good business acumen and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of cross-functional workstreams and a reliable partner of leaders outside
  • of Finance.
  • Financial system implementation or enhancement project experience.
  • Experience in executive and board presentation.
  • Prior private equity backed company experience a plus.
