We are looking for a Scientist I - Chemistry (First-Shift) in Sunnyvale, CA for a 12+ months contract position.

Shift: 6AM-2:30PM (M-F)

Description:

  • Synthesize polymer particles using established chemistries
  • Participate in process optimization, development, and scaleups for routine production
  • Perform analytical characterization of polymeric particles using specialty equipment and instrumentation (including ionchromatography, particle sizing, and surface area instruments)
  • Analyze data, derive conclusions, document findings, write SOPs and prepare reports
  • Present written and oral reports, and collaborate with multidisciplinary groups with R&D and manufacturing divisions
  • Producing many of the resins that are key to the success of Thermo Fisher's Ion Chromatography portfolio
  • Follow all EH&S safety requirements, participate in safety improvement activities, and carry out to ISO9001 guidelines and corporate quality policy

Requirements:

  • Hands on experience in the Chemistry laboratory & wet chemistry
  • Ability to summarize and present experimental results and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must obtain Bachelors degree in science related field
  • Able to lift the weights up to 40 lbs and meet all physical demands to work in chemical laboratory

$ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift

Experience:

  • Chemistry laboratory & wet chemistry: 2 years (required)
