Description:
Michigan State University (MSU) is on the lookout for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the team at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB). FRIB is a cutting-edge user facility dedicated to studying rare isotopes and supporting the mission of the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science (DOE-SC) in the field of nuclear physics.

Purpose:
The Electrical Engineer will play a key role in leading projects, providing strategic direction, and ensuring the successful implementation of complex electrical systems and safety programs.

Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate electrical integration across different hardware divisions of FRIB
- Review designs and oversee the installation of electrical systems
- Plan and implement major electrical systems
- Analyze various aspects of electrical systems from concept to disposal
- Act as the Area Coordinator for electrical rooms
- Maintain and enforce the Electrical Safety Program and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Program
- Review custom electronic and electrical systems
- Perform other duties within the scope of the job classification

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics
- 5-8 years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in using industry-specific tools
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to understand and implement technical drawings
- Experience with electrical engineering codes and safety standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites
- Licensed Professional Engineer (desired)
