Job Scope:

Managing a team ofindividuals (direct) reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Accounting, this person will oversee:
  • The accurate and timely recording and reporting of financial information in accordance with group accounting policies and IFRS across various business units
  • Providing technical accounting support, ensuring the accurate assessment and application of accounting policies across business units
  • S upervising, directing, coaching, and personal development of their accounting staff.
Job Responsibilities
  • Identify, hire, and develop staff responsible for all aspects of general ledger accounting of multiple entities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to accounting staff, fostering their professional development and growth.
  • Oversee general accounting areas including prepaids, accruals, intercompany receivables/payables, royalty income/expense, payroll and benefits expense activity prepared by accounting staff to ensure accurate accounting treatment.
  • Complete month end procedures as assigned, including but not limited to journal entry preparation/review and account reconciliation/analysis.
  • Oversee the monthly close process of sub-ledgers for the prepaid and general ledger modules.
  • Perform month end reporting procedures in FCCS for one or more entities.
  • Assist with driving compliance with IFRS and implementation of new standards.
  • Recommend to management any updates or changes to accounting policies within the area of responsibility.
  • Abide by internal controls, ensuring compliance with guidelines and procedures.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, other analyses and special projects requested by management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and streamline accounting procedures.
  • Monitor the administration of the purchase requisition hierarchy and purchase order hierarchy in Oracle.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations of accounting transactions and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree inA ccounting or F inance
  • 4+ Years Progressively responsible accounting experience
  • 2+ Years Public accounting experience, Big 4 a plus
  • 2+ Years Supervisory experience
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • Self-starter, demonstrates initiative and ability to lead through change and complexity
  • Ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Excellent skills in oral and written communication
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Detailed oriented, organized and has strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Must be capable of working both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Windows and Office programs; high skill level in Excel)
