Job Summary:

The position drives the development of new dish machine equipment and component designs. The engineer manages ongoing improvements to existing equipment models and works closely with the Auto-Chlor System equipment assembly team to improve production process and re-manufacturing operations. Manages the Auto-Chlor System Equipment Technical Support Team and is responsible for regulatory compliance on equipment innovation.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements solutions for dishwasher and dispensing innovation projects including new equipment development and existing equipment innovation.
  • Manage project deadlines, outline Project Brief requirements.
  • Administers regulatory compliance with required agencies; NSF, CSA, UL, BOCA, ASSE, UPC and Federal, State and Local authorities.
  • Supports field sales team with regulatory issues including working with local inspectors to keep customers equipment in operation without disruption to the business.
  • Provides technical support to field sales team, contractors, consultants, engineers, and architects.
  • Develops and manages technical documentation for design control and field use.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree or comparable years of experience
  • Three years of design experience and working with regulatory agencies, commercial appliance industry preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience with project management, goals and timelines.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design, sheet metal fabrication, plastic component design, electrical/electronic circuit design, commercial water heaters and heat pumps.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuit troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 3D CAD Modeling - Autodesk Inventor Preferred
  • Technical writing and instruction manual creation
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent Use of Desktop PC with Mouse and Keyboard while sitting or standing 1-8 hrs/day
  • Occassional Stair Climbing as they are moving about the facility 3 flights/day day
  • Occassional Standing and Walking 1-3 continuous hrs/day
  • Occasional Lifting up to 70 lbs
  • Occasional Carrying up to 70 lbs
  • Driving Company Truck/Car 1-3 hours
  • No prescription drugs that would interfere with working with chemicals, operating machines or driving
  • 40hr plus work week
