About the Role: As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will provide Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) support to various branches including Systems Planning and Technical Leadership, Payload Adapter Engineering, and Spacecraft Integration.
- Define and trace design and construction requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed requirement specification documents.
- Support verification and validation planning.
- Lead the implementation of required requirements and design review plans.
- Negotiate interfaces with different teams.
- Provide Risk Management support.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Degree from an ABET accredited institution.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in space vehicle hardware design.
- Experience in project planning and technical integration.
- Outstanding negotiation and collaboration skills.
- Ability to breakdown complex problems into manageable pieces.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hardware production, including composite materials.
- Knowledge of the current SLS program and SPIE ISPE and EUS interfaces.
- Knowledge of model-based systems engineering applications.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment: This role primarily involves office work, interaction with colleagues, management, and clients, and occasional travel within the USA.
Physical Requirements: Involves sitting for extended periods during meetings and desk work, and the ability to use stairs or elevators.
Equipment and Machines: Proficient in operating general office equipment.
Attendance: Typically a workday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday with minimal overtime occasionally required.
Other Essential Functions: U.S. Citizenship is required. Must exhibit the ability to work independently and make rational decisions.
