Key Responsibilities:

Inspection and Compliance:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Review plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand the scope and requirements of the project.
  • Verify that materials and workmanship meet the standards set by local, state, and federal regulations.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections, including photographs, written reports, and checklists.
  • Report findings to contractors, engineers, and project managers, providing recommendations for corrections or improvements.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Collaborate with construction managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address and resolve issues promptly.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings to discuss project requirements and inspection schedules.
  • Provide guidance and clarification on building codes and standards to contractors and construction teams.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest developments in construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance inspection skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in construction, engineering, or related fields is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction inspection or a related role.
  • Thorough understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and technology, including tablets, cameras, and software applications.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Work Environment:

  • The role requires regular travel to construction sites, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions and construction hazards.
  • The position may require working outside of regular business hours to accommodate inspection schedules and project timelines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, and climb for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials.
  • Manual dexterity to operate inspection tools and technology.
