Your Role With Us:
Pharmacy Interns at Salem Health are provided top-level training to prepare for a career in Pharmacology.

Interns earn to provide the best patient experience through assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team members in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Under the supervision of a pharmacist, interns review patient records and orders regarding drug therapy, perform clinical interventions as defined by protocol, and consult with staff members on appropriate medication use.

Under pharmacist supervision, the intern reviews and interprets physician orders to assure that the drug, dosage form, and dose is appropriate for the patient age, weight, and co-morbidities.

Consults with physicians and nursing staff members concerning the use, availability, dosage form, side effects and possible incompatibilities of new as well as currently used drugs.
