Nutrition Driver
Summary/Objective
Performs all activities related to delivery for homebound meal delivery route and/or congregate meal service, and associated aspects of client services.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Load companyowned vehicle per daily route sheet requirements
- Observe condition of items being loaded and report any concerns immediately
- Make route sequence changes as needed utilizing companyowned GPS system
- Deliver approved food product to qualified participants within reasonable timeframe
- Deliver meals without assistance, in all weather conditions, to clients' dwellings; dwellings may not be easily accessible, may require ascending & descending steps or flights of stairs, and may require navigating extended distances inside or outside
- Accurately document all meals delivered and return paperwork daily
- Accept and maintain client donations utilizing envelopes provided; keeping monies secure at all times
- Ensure secure delivery of homebound donations to the AIHS office
- Maintain and operate company
- Ensure hazardous materials do not come in contact with meal storage compartments, interior or exterior
- Observe condition of items being delivered and report any concerns to office prior to delivering to client
- Accept returned items from clients and transport to office in safe manner
- Perform environmental scan for each homebound client
- Report concerns regarding homebound clients physical or mental wellbeing to the nutrition department for possible referral to other services
- Report concerns regarding potentially unqualified participants
- Notify nutrition department immediately if homebound client fails to respond when delivery is attempted
- Communicate with supervisor on daily basis, and as needed, to report all areas of concern/issues/incidents
- Demonstrate professionalism in relationships with customers/coworkers/supervisors to build rapport while refraining from inappropriately familiar personal relationships
- Complete and attest to accuracy of payroll records, and submit for review and processing according to agency schedule
- Serve as an example of agency Standard of Excellence by exemplifying agency vision and goals.

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years or more experience and/or training in similar position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Three years or more of professional delivery driving experience using company-owned trucks/vehicles. Previous experience or proven ability to follow driving directions and interpret/navigate routes by using company-owned GPS.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
Must possess and provide annually valid driver's license and documentation of current automobile insurance at agency-specified levels. Must provide negative TB certificate, or documentation to support exemption, annually.
Must comply with requirements of other facilities (hospitals, LTC facilities, etc.) related to flu or other vaccines if job duties require providing services in those facilities.
Expected Hours of Work
This position is a non-exempt position and may be full-time or part-time depending on the agency's needs. Agency business hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.
Travel
Travel is throughout the agency's service area during agency business hours.
Physical Demands
The individual must be able to communicate effectively with others and enable understanding by others through communication. The individual is required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. The individual is required to load and transport items in a company-owned vehicle, safeguard, and document delivery of items. Items to be loaded, lifted, moved may be 50 pounds frequently, and up to 60 to 75 pounds occasionally. The individual will exit and enter clients' dwellings multiple times per route without assistance in all weather conditions.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, etc., and nutrition department specific items, such as coolers, freezers, etc.
