Responsibilities

Workflow Development & Expertise:
Operational oversight and awareness of the nursing informatics role in the context of health informatics and informations systems. Leads teams to understand clinician workflows including technology and human processes.

Assures teams, Ascension Technologies (AT) and local clinical teams, work together so new technology and new practices focus on efficiency, standardized practice and patient safety.


Optimization:


Assures the coordination of teams to evaluate and optimize clinical system designs based on current clinical workflows and evidence based practice.

Understands technical capabilities of systems and is consulted as an expert to identify best options to achieve desired outcomes with a focus on efficient workflows and patient safety.


Change Management/Adoption:
Awareness of the impact of implementing technology to facilitate practice. Understands and supports change management principles for adoption of new or existing tech/tools/processes. Oversees use of data and analytics to monitor the tools and technology in use. Consulted for opportunities around efficiencies and improved patient outcomes. Oversees content development of training resources related to technology use.

Escalations and Problem Resolution:


Serves as the primary point within the market for partners and team members to escalate technology problems with both projects and routine operations.

Skilled in independently assessing the issue and owning the engagement of the appropriate stakeholders to overcome.

Expert Advising:
Creates a culture of advising market partners in their technology interests via persuasion, influence, negotiation and compromise. Aware of societal and technological trends, issues and new developments. Director and team know how to say "no" without saying no and eliminate order taking mentality.

Relationship Management (Market):


Develop and maintain strong relationship with market leaders at various levels resulting in a dynamic where the partners consider the Director their primary point of contact for technology interests and challenges.

Relationship Management (AT):

  • Develop a network of trusting relationships with peers throughout the larger AT organization who you directly engage to explore opportunities and overcome challenges.

Team Culture:
Create a culture of ownership and accountability within the team.

Ensure team approaches their work as problem solvers (versus problem admiration) - and approaches their work in a way that demonstrates a "We" culture with their AT colleagues (as opposed to "us vs them").

Requirements

Education:


High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
