Government Relations Director Sr. - Pharmacy/PBM

Location: This role offers a blend of virtual and office work. The ideal candidate should reside within a 50-mile radius of our Elevance Health PulsePoint sites.

Elevance Health follows a hybrid work model using PulsePoint locations for teamwork and connection. The expectation is to be in the office 1-2 days a week at minimum.

The Senior Government Relations Director leads advocacy efforts with state and local government bodies concerning CarelonRx and associated businesses. This involves devising and executing strategies to engage effectively with government officials, policymakers, and regulatory agencies at local and state levels in line with public policy and collaborating with the Federal advocacy team when required.

How You Will Influence:

Main responsibilities include:

  • Creating a thorough government relations plan aligned with CarelonRx's business objectives.
  • Participating in lobbying campaigns to advance CarelonRx's and its clients' interests.
  • Monitoring legislative and regulatory proposals, assessing their impact on the PBM sector, and providing recommendations to senior management. Supervising the development and execution of public affairs and communication strategies to effectively convey the company's positions to government stakeholders. Collaborating with other divisions of Public Affairs (PPIM, PPI, Federal & External Affairs) to meet organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must hold a BS in Pharmacy or PharmD and possess a decade of experience in legislation, regulation, politics, public affairs, or industry.

Desired Skills and Background:

  • Frequent travel (up to 75% of the time).
  • Experience in Pharmacy and/or PBM.

For individuals working on-site or remotely in the following locations, the salary* for this role ranges from $159,624 to $258,768:

Locations: California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington State, Jersey City, NJ
