Expected salary range of $115,200 to $128,000, which varies based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes a bonus and 401(k) plan.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

As a leader in driving the station ALARA program, the primary responsibilities include implementing strategies for reducing long-term exposure, outage planning, evaluating and installing shielding and technology, removing and mitigating source terms, establishing processes and procedures for effective ALARA controls, and monitoring associated metrics of an ALARA program. This role involves applying leadership and strategic focus to all aspects of the ALARA program, including developing and presenting business cases for necessary program/site improvements in CRE reduction.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Plan and execute ALARA activities, estimating, involving workgroups and implementing procedures in compliance with Exelon procedure guidance for exposure reduction.
  • Conduct assessments, take corrective actions, benchmark, and evaluate job performance related to ALARA processes and practices. Implement best practices from the fleet and the industry.
  • Carry out specific roles independently, such as outage planning, leading modification teams, online planning, or other essential duties within the Radiation Protection ALARA program.
  • Provide mentorship and support in the development of RP personnel, site personnel, and contractors to ensure the transfer and adoption of industry knowledge and Radiation Protection standards.
  • Integrate fleet fundamentals into all work processes and actively coach and educate station personnel for continuous enhancement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in health physics or a related scientific field with 4 years of experience in radiation protection OR
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Associate Degree in health physics or a related scientific field and 6 years of experience in radiation protection OR
  • High School Diploma with four years of ANSI Rad Protection Technician qualifications, or a minimum of eight years of experience related to radiation protection in a nuclear power facility.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Detailed understanding of plant systems and operations.
  • Completion of NRRPT or CHP certifications successfully.
