Accounting Manager (consulting)

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently working with a growing Transportation & Logistics firm to fill a temporary Accounting Manager role. We are looking for a strong leader that is looking to step up as the right hand to the Controller. This position has the potential to evolve into a permanent role for the right candidate, if desired. Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the work of the general accounting team (3 people) and jumping in to assist on AP, AR, reconciliation work as needed
  • Oversight of any GL postings and adjustments
  • Managing month-end, quarterly, and annual close process; preparing and analyzing balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow statements
  • Identifying areas of inefficiency and creating/implementing new policies and procedures for the Accounting team
  • Assisting with quarterly and annual budget preparation and analyzing on a monthly basis to make sure departments remain within budget
  • Assisting Controller and CFO with quarterly and annual cash flow forecasting
  • Managing any ad-hoc accounting projects or reporting as necessary

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance

Skills desired for this role:

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables/vlookups
  • Previous experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred

Schedule:

  • 3-4 days in office, 1-2 days remote in Midtown, NYC

Hours:

  • 9 - 5:30 PM, occasional overtime as needed

Pay Details: $52.00 to $60.00 per hour
