POSITION SUMMARY: The General Manager plays a vital role in overseeing one of Republic Services' Business Units, with full profit and loss responsibility across all operational aspects. Tasked with managing a team covering Operations, Fleet Management, Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Safety and Environmental Compliance, and Environmental Engineering, the General Manager crafts and executes a local market strategy aligned with the company's overall plans and objectives. By focusing on driving operational excellence, budgetary goals, and ensuring compliance with standards, the General Manager leads efforts to introduce new processes and products, fostering growth and sustainability within the Business Unit.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Developing and executing the Business Unit's strategy with defined objectives and product offering strategies.
  • Establishing success metrics and ensuring alignment with the company's overarching strategy.
  • Managing strategic alliances and marketing relationships to enhance service offerings.
  • Collaborating across departments to plan and execute joint market activities.
  • Supporting the creation of marketing content that communicates the value of the company's services effectively.
  • Driving joint marketing programs to fuel revenue growth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior experience in the environmental services sector.
  • History of employment with a Fortune 500 company.
  • Knowledge of labor relations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of P&L responsibility.
