The Sales Manager (SM) role in Milwaukee is pivotal in advancing the company's international third-party logistics business within a designated territory. The SM is entrusted with driving business growth in alignment with corporate targets, emphasizing revenue and profitability thresholds, as well as product development initiatives. This individual is the primary liaison for sales endeavors with potential clients and a dedicated account manager for customers within their region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expand the company's global 3PL services within the specified territory
- Act as the lead point-of-contact for sales with prospective clients and existing accounts
- Identify and cultivate leads, transitioning them through the sales cycle to secure new customers
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline with diverse prospects at varying stages
- Conduct regular visits to nurture client relationships and drive revenue growth
- Deliver persuasive value propositions to establish enduring partnerships
The ideal candidate possesses over two years of relevant outside sales experience and excels in forging impactful relationships within a multitude of industries. Proficiency in import/export logistics, including ocean (NVOCC) and air freight, is instrumental. Moreover, the Sales Manager should demonstrate adeptness in advocating for various ancillary services such as customs brokerage, warehousing, and IT solutions.
Required Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of freight forwarding services, encompassing ocean and air freight, customs clearance, and value-added offerings
- Ability to promote holistic 3PL solutions tailored to clients' needs
- Self-discipline, initiative, and strong organizational capabilities
Computer Proficiency:
- Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Accurate typist with the capacity to adapt to new applications
