We are actively seeking a dedicated, fluent bilingual translator to provide translation services from English to Spanish during our weekly worship services. This role is pivotal in creating an inclusive worship environment, enabling all congregation members to fully engage in our services, regardless of their primary language.
**Responsibilities:**
Deliver real-time translation of worship services from English to Spanish.
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to deeply understand sermon themes and biblical texts for precise translations.
- Translate written worship materials, including bulletins and hymns.
- Provide translation support at church events beyond regular worship services as needed.
**Qualifications:**
Proficiency in both English and Spanish with exceptional verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience in translation or related fields is preferred.
- A good understanding of religious terminology and practices is advantageous.
- Capable of real-time translation and adjusting to variations in the flow of speech.
- A respectful and sensitive approach to diverse theological and cultural viewpoints is essential.
**Schedule:**
The position requires availability every Sunday morning, additional hours during the week, and for special services such as Christmas Eve, Christmas, and any other holidays that fall on a Sunday.
**Compensation:**
We offer a competitive hourly rate, which is commensurate with experience.
