Under the general supervision of the Accounting Administrator I, the Associate Accounting Analyst works independently to perform the more complex and difficult professional duties relating to the establishment, recording, maintenance, reconciliation, and reporting of accounts receivable transactions within the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) accounting systems and the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal), in accordance with the Department's policies and procedures.

This position serves as the lead analyst in the Employer Assessment Unit within Accounting and performs the more complicated professional analytical work with a high level of the responsibility and confidentiality.

The Incumbent is responsible for the analysis, maintenance and ongoing development of internal controls housed in subsidiary financial systems, and the reconciliation of the data to the state's main accounting system and State Controller accounts.

Working Conditions

The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting, with natural and artificial lighting. The building is air-conditioned with elevator access. Typical work requires prolonged use a computer, calculator, telephone, and interaction with co-workers. Telework is available as approved by the department; Travel will be occasionally required to attend meetings and/or trainings.

This is a permanent fulltime position, Monday - Friday.

DIR offers remote-centered hybrid telework up to three days per week; minimum two days per week in the San Francisco office.
