What does a Member Engagement Specialist do?

The Member Engagement Specialist at the Channel Islands YMCA maintains a positive environment that values and welcomes all individuals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting interviews and facility tours with prospective members
  • Engaging members and overseeing recruitment and retention efforts
  • Generating new prospective members through various channels
  • Handling member relations, inquiries, and complaints
  • Ensuring knowledge of YMCA programs and assisting with enrollments
  • Providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a tidy work area

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain necessary certifications within 30 days of hire
  • Completion of required trainings within two weeks of hire
