Position: System Administrator

Location: Denver, CO (Remote role, must reside in Colorado)

Duration: 6 Months+

Job Description:

  • The System Administrator role involves providing advanced technical support for Windows 2008 server hardware, operating system, and system software on web, application, file, and reporting servers. Additionally, the position includes offering technical assistance for VMWare ESX virtual server environment and server configuration management.

Activities:

  • - Plan, assess, and implement server upgrades, patches, and solutions.
  • - Support Windows Active Directory.
  • - Manage server administration, setup, and resolution of problems with Windows 2008/2012 and VMWare vSphere Enterprise servers.
  • - Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance.
  • - Oversee service level management and hardware maintenance/installation.
  • - Resolve hardware, software, and network issues, determining necessary maintenance, repairs, and enhancements.

Pre-Requisites:

  • - Previous experience in system administration within a Windows Enterprise setting is mandatory.
  • - Proficiency and prior experience with Windows 2008 operating systems are essential.
  • - Familiarity and experience with Windows 2012 operating systems are preferred.
  • - Competence in managing, setting up, configuring, patching, tuning, and debugging servers in these environments is necessary.
  • - Proficiency in scripting is advantageous.
  • - Knowledge and experience with IBM or similar SAN-attached storage is a plus.
  • - Background in large-scale systems and Oracle/PeopleSoft 9.1 or higher environments is desirable.
