This position will provide technical support on the Bus Bar and Switchgear line of business to Vertiv Services Customer Engineers.

The position will interface with the engineering and manufacturing teams to create and update service technical documentation, parts identification and creation, service operational procedures, and product updates.


This position will support system failure analysis in collaborating with engineering and quality and the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) team.

This position will be based in Vertiv Switchgear and Busbar manufacturing location at Anderson NC. But will report to Vertiv Services Americas Technical Support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Model and always enforce Vertiv safety guidelines.
  • Lead development of service-related documentation.
  • Develop Product technical updates and deliver technical webinars.
  • Provide Domestic and International Technical Assistance.
  • Lead customer meetings and teleconferences as directed.
  • On-site Technical Assistance as required with minimal supervision.
  • Availability to conduct after-hours technical support in a weekly rotation schedule.
  • Identify, collect, and provide service documentation in emergencies for service technicians.
  • Liaison between engineering and manufacturing on behalf of service.
  • Review quotes and provides support for proposals to applications engineering teams.
  • Communicate technical requirements for orders with custom configuration in advance of product shipment to service delivery team.
  • Escalate any concerns and ensure that appropriate changes are made to resolve customers' concerns.
  • Work closely with quality to address field reported issues and develop lessons learned.
  • Work closely with RCA team for investigation of critical events
  • Support engineering team with investigation and parts analysis for RCA support.
  • Review all pertinent data for site failures including, but not limited to repairs and findings from field engineers, alarm downloads, other site monitoring data, service history, site configuration, and load profile to support RCA.
  • Maintain contact with the supplier's engineering and quality associates during the analysis process to ensure the results meet Vertiv' s goal of identifying the root cause.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred, or equivalent training and experience
  • Minimum 4 years military or industry experience in power switchgear or electronic fields.
  • Vertiv Services experience with AC Power products is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience in medium power and low voltage power.
  • Effective troubleshooting skills and resolution documentation.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, especially MS Outlook, Excel SharePoint, and Smartsheet.
  • Experience with schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge or experience with manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in quality system processes like 8D Analysis, FMEA, Six Sigma, Kepner Trego
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/issues simultaneously.
  • Properly interact with all levels in the organization, and with the customers.
  • Conscientious, accurate, detail oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability in electrical circuit understanding and troubleshooting.
