What is this role?

As an Automation Engineer for Cirkul, you will work in a pivotal role in driving the integration of new automation technology into manufacturing processes. You will lead projects from inception to completion, identifying and evaluating emerging technologies and suppliers to ensure alignment with company standards. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and regulatory compliance. This role requires experience in automated assembly equipment, including PLCs, robotics, vision systems, and motion control, as well as strong communication and project management skills.

What does an average day look like?
  • Driving Results: Lead the implementation of automation projects from concept to completion, including testing, commissioning, and training of personnel.
  • Taking Ownership: Evaluate existing processes to identify areas for automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Making Decisions: Utilize sound engineering problem-solving skills to generate cost-benefit analyses for proposed automation projects.
  • Cultivating Relationships: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing operations, quality engineering, and product development, to ensure seamless and effective integration of automated equipment solutions.
  • Instilling Trust: Provide ongoing support to manufacturing operations for existing and new automation systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing continuous improvements.
  • Customer Focus: Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in automation to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
What background should you have?
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years' experience with automation equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with programming languages and software used in controls engineering, such as ladder logic (Studio 5000), HMI (FactoryTalk View ME), Omron, etc.
  • Experience working in manufacturing and bringing in new equipment design/installation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Experience leading projects from conception to completion, including vendor selection, specification development, and equipment commissioning.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards related to manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
