DMC University Laboratories (DMCUL) is a regional, integrated laboratory system providing services to the eight hospitals of Detroit Medical Center. DMC University Laboratories has a broad range of services including Core Laboratories, Specialty Laboratories, rapid response hospital labs, Centralized Stat Lab, Centralized Blood Bank Lab, and full service outreach infrastructure.

Summary Description

As a Medical Technologist at DMC, you will perform quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens, analyze results, prepare samples, and maintain records. You will also have the opportunity to process various laboratory specimens, review and report results, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent
  • Prefer 6 months to 1 year experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Required: Registered or registry eligible, and licensure as required by State

Skills Required

  • 1. Analytical ability to interpret test results
  • 2. Effective interpersonal skills
  • 3. Manual dexterity to operate laboratory equipment
  • 4. Visual acuity for specimen examination
