ROLE

The position of Executive Director at Advocates Building Lasting Equality in New Hampshire (ABLE NH) involves providing strategic leadership and oversight to the organization, while acting as the public face and spokesperson for ABLE New Hampshire.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the Board of Directors to set the strategic direction, aligning all activities with the mission and goals of ABLE NH, and serving as the primary representative of the organization to media, government agencies, donors, and the general public.

This role reports to and is assessed by the ABLE NH Board of Directors.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct day-to-day operations in line with the Board's vision
  • Participate in developing and implementing a strategic plan for ABLE NH
  • Work closely with the Board and Committees
  • Act as the main spokesperson for ABLE NH
  • Nurture key relationships with stakeholders
  • Develop organizational policies
  • Recruit, onboard, and support employees
  • Manage the operating budget
  • Oversee grant and contract requirements
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations


Advocacy

  • Advocate for the rights of individuals with disabilities
  • Promote full participation through various initiatives
  • Identify and cultivate leaders in the Disabilities Community


Organizational Growth & Development

Implement a Development Plan focusing on long-term fundraising and membership growth

  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities
  • Increase membership and event attendance


General

  • Flexibility for evening and weekend work
  • Travel around the state for meetings
  • Perform other duties as agreed


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep commitment to ABLE New Hampshire's mission
  • Passion for social justice and disability rights
  • Experience in engaging diverse communities and securing funding
  • Ability to plan and achieve multiple goals
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills and software
  • Relevant degree or experience in nonprofit management and social justice
  • Advocacy, public policy, and community organizing experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000 to $75,000 annually
