Job Description:
Our agency is looking for a committed and seasoned RN for a Home Health role in a reputable institution renowned for serving demographics in need such as children at risk, the elderly, those with chronic illness, and end-of-life patients for more than a century.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have an Associate degree or higher, have a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS), and hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey (NJ).
Experience in Emergency Department (ED), Burn Unit/Wound Clinic, Critical Care, Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg), Home Health, Oncology, and Acute Care. While the preferred applicant may be bilingual, this is not a mandatory requirement. All applicants will be expected to present their RN License Number on the application.
Role Overview
In this role, you will provide expert nursing care to patients across various age groups. Your duties will revolve around implementing nursing care plans, ensuring patient safety, and communicating effectively with other healthcare professionals. The job requires strong organizational skills, an ability to work independently, and a steadfast commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
Responsibilities
As part of your routine, you will:
- Deliver direct or indirect skilled comprehensive nursing care to various age and diagnostic groups.
- Apply principles of the nursing process to support data collection, care planning, and the evaluation of nursing care.
- Exhibit nursing knowledge and skills in establishing prevention strategies, therapeutic care, and rehabilitation interventions.
- Employ effective interviewing techniques, set limits, and collect data relevant to your role.
- Relay and coordinate effectively with medical providers, third parties, patients, and families.
- Prioritize the comfort and safety needs of the patients.
- Monitor patients consistently, notifying the supervisor or Physician of any significant changes in patient's condition, reactions to drugs, treatments, or incidents.
- Respond aptly to life-saving situations following established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Communicate important information to the healthcare team effectively both in written and verbal forms.
Work schedule is 8:30a-4:30p, one weekend per month inclusive of one summer and one winter holiday coverage. You will also be provided with a tablet and a phone as work equipment.
