Summary

The College of Innovation & Technology Marketing Manager will lead all aspects of marketing and communications for CIT. Reporting to the Dean of CIT, you will propose, develop, implement, and evaluate marketing plans, along with create a budget and evaluate Return on investment. You will also develop stories to promote and showcase the achievements and initiatives within CIT. It is expected that you will create content for multiple delivery methods (print, video, digital marketing campaigns, social media, web and more) and develop communication strategies for different constituencies (current students, prospective students, parents, alumni, industry partners, government agencies, UM-Flint and more.). You will also seek to enhance and leverage the work of UM-Flint's Office of Marketing & Communications by working collaboratively with colleagues across the institution to amplify the work of CIT faculty, students, and staff which will help to further the value of the UM-Flint brand.

Responsibilities*

Propose, develop, implement, and evaluate marketing plans for CIT including budget development and Return on investment analysis. Evaluate and make improvements, using specific metrics, and setting Key Performance Indicators with regular reports to the Dean on progress, successes, and opportunities. Develop stories to promote and showcase the achievements and initiatives within CIT. Manage content creation for multiple delivery methods (print, graphic, video, social media, web, among others) and different constituencies. Oversee the production of promotional materials (print, video, social media, web and more), layout design, video templates, copy preparation and more. Develop communication strategies and identify marketing opportunities. Enhance and use the work of UM-Flint's Office of Marketing & Communications and cultivate brand awareness. Represent CIT at university functions, professional organizations, industry organizations, community, and related external events.

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Five or more years of experience in marketing and/or communications including experiences with digital marketing, online advertising, Return on investment analysis, budgeting Experience managing multiple content areas (print, graphic, video, social media, web, etc.) with record of successful marketing plan development. Knowledge of CRM software and email marketing tools. Knowledge of content development tools (Adobe Suite, Indesign, Wordpress and more). Awareness of different needs required of multiple constituencies and ability to collaborate with colleagues across the institution. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally relevant manner with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.

Work Schedule

A hybrid work schedule (some days on campus and some days working remotely) is available for this position at this time. However, this is subject to change based on the tasks of the position and the needs of the department.
