As a Direct Support Professional at Friendship Community, you will work as part of a team in one of our 24 homes, supporting up to 4 Individuals.
Your responsibilities as a Friendship Community DSP will include:
- Assisting Individuals in daily routines such as dressing, bathing, eating/feeding, toileting, and exercises.
- Supporting Individuals with mobility using walking aids, lifting, splints, and transferring them through safe techniques (up to 50 lbs).
- Understanding the use of mechanical lifts if available.
- Helping with food preparation, kitchen duties, and teaching appropriate skills.
- Providing assistance with in-room care, general house cleaning, and teaching appropriate skills.
- Adhering to and maintaining knowledge of the Individual's care plan.
- Reporting symptoms, concerns, or medical observations to the Residential Manager, nurse on duty, or designated agency personnel.
- Administering medications to Individuals as prescribed once med-trained.
- Transporting Individuals to activities using Friendship Community vehicles.
- Assisting with home upkeep.
- Attending Team Meetings, required trainings, and reviewing meeting minutes.
- Completing other duties as assigned based on the home.
