Position: The Mall Janitor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the janitorial team and ensuring the mall is kept clean, safe, and welcoming for all visitors and tenants. This role includes managing daily cleaning operations, supervising staff, maintaining supply inventories, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Core Responsibilities:
  1. Supervision of Staff:
Oversee and supervise the janitorial team, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Train new janitorial staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
  • Monitor staff performance, providing feedback, coaching, and corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare work schedules and assign specific tasks to janitors, ensuring coverage during peak hours and special events.
  1. Operational Duties:
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules and routines to ensure all areas of the mall are regularly maintained.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the mall to identify and address any cleaning or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ensure that all cleaning activities comply with health and safety regulations.
  1. Inventory and Supplies Management:
  • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring all necessary items are in stock.
  • Order new supplies as needed and ensure proper storage and usage to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Track usage and manage budget expenditures for janitorial supplies and equipment.
  1. Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure all janitorial staff are trained in and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and monitor protocols for handling hazardous materials and spills.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and drills with the janitorial team.
  1. Customer Service:
  • Address and resolve any complaints or concerns from mall tenants or visitors regarding cleanliness.
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused attitude, ensuring the janitorial team provides excellent service.
  • Collaborate with mall management and other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to mall cleanliness and maintenance.
  1. Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate records of staff schedules, cleaning activities, and supply inventories.
  • Prepare and submit reports on cleaning operations and staff performance to the Facilities Manager.
  • Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures for janitorial activities.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to improve cleaning processes and implement best practices.
  • Stay updated on new cleaning technologies and methods.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the janitorial team.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in facilities management or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a janitorial or facilities management role, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to cleaning.
