New Role Overview:

Responsible for implementing engineering design by applying general engineering principles, interpreting assignments, and coordinating tasks with minimal supervision.

Serves as a technical consultant to junior engineers.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the project development for roadway/highway projects
  • Track effort and oversee resources
  • Organize design components with teaming partners
  • Mentor EITs and Designers
  • Drive schematic design and PS&E in Texas
  • Contribute to other teams to achieve company targets
  • Create responses for SOQ's and RFP's
  • Participate actively in professional organizations
  • Plan, conduct, and oversee phases of engineering work
  • Analyze survey data, maps, and other data sources for project planning
  • Verify design calculations
  • Develop construction cost estimates
  • Prepare engineering documents for construction
  • Manage project sub-consultants and support disciplines
  • Attend client meetings
  • Ensure project completion within deadlines and quality standards

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer License (Texas)
  • 5-10 years of Highway Design Experience
  • Proficiency in Microstation, Geopak, and/or OpenRoads Designer
  • Experience with highway/roadway projects for government agencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based work with occasional fieldwork. Fieldwork may involve various environmental conditions and occasional lifting.
