Position Summary:
As the Wheeler Executive Director, you will oversee the effective management and operation of the Wheeler Opera House. Your responsibilities will include approving artistic planning, financial management, facility operations, employee management, and providing community leadership aligning with the organization's values.


Supervision Exercised and Received:
Position reports to the Assistant City Manager and supervises various key roles within the organization.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Theatre Management, Art Administration, or related field. Master's Degree preferred.
Experience: Seven years in Theatre Management or Operations with at least five years in direct supervision.


Technical Knowledge:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Candidate:
Master's Degree in Theatre or Arts Management. Experience in municipal government environment is a plus.
NOTE:
This role requires a Criminal Background Check upon hire.
Work Environment:
  • Indoors: Wheeler Opera House; office environment.
  • Outdoors/Off-Site: Meetings, trainings, and conferences.

Physical Demands:
The candidate should be able to meet the physical requirements of the job.
