Retail Associate Summary:

As the Retail Associate, you will strive to deliver an exceptional hospitality experience, acting as a beacon of product knowledge, and keeping service and sales flowing in our busy marketplace section. Primary roles of the Retail Associate:

Retail Floor leadership expectations
  • Create a welcoming environment.
  • Work quickly and efficiently.
  • Engage positively and enthusiastically with guests.
  • Maintain open communications with teammates.
  • Understand product pairings, suggestions and beer and wine fundamentals.
  • Commit to sensory development.
  • Cleaning equipment such as POS and retail shelves
  • Restocking retail shelves and developing order lists.
  • Building online orders to be shipped.
  • Maintain proper rotation and dating of prepared food items.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure food quality and safety.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.
  • Merchandising.
  • Opening and closing procedures.

Continue a culture of teamwork and collaboration that supports the overall store culture
  • Model and apply the employee handbook and code of conduct equitably.
  • Teach, mentor, and inspire (and be inspired by) all cafe employees.
  • Respond proactively and positively to challenges in production.
  • Maintain professionalism with attire and enforce team hygiene standards.
  • Help build and maintain positive relationships between the back and front of the house.
Facility Maintenance:

The aesthetic and overall cleanliness and condition of the coffee bar and storage areas is an essential part of our customer & employee experience.

As a Retail Floor Associate, you are responsible to:

  • Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of your workstation, including and not limited to retail floor, bar tops, storage space, etc.
  • Work with Management to ensure the retail floor is cleaned and serviced regularly.
  • Ensure that the facility is both clean and in compliance with health department requirements.

Requirements:

  • Previous coffee or specialty foods/hospitality experience.
  • Demonstrate a passion for coffee, tea and specialty goods.
  • Maintain a current Serv-Safe or equivalent Food handlers' certificate.
  • Availability to work shifts, early mornings, evenings, public holidays, and weekends.
  • On occasion you may be required to work more than 40 hours per week as required.
  • Ability to lift 40 Lbs.
  • Accurate cash handling skills.
  • Stocking and inventory skills.
  • Repetitive bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, pulling, pushing, lifting, and grasping.


Compensation:

Compensation: Starts at $22.00/hr. Depending on experience.
