Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Branch Chief, the Agricultural Program Supervisor II (APSII) supervises and oversees the activities of the Resource, Outreach, Training, and Deferred Maintenance Unit; attends fair board meetings throughout the state, consults with CDFA staff attorneys and Department of Justice attorneys on DAA legal issues, and assists the Branch Chief with administrative tasks such as legal referrals and legislative bill analysis.

Candidates may perform these essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Working Conditions

The duties of this position are conducted indoors most of the time. Travel activities, throughout the state, up to 50% and require a valid driver's license and the ability to fly or take other means of transportation, such as bus or train.

The settings where the incumbent may be required to work vary. The office settings are permanent dwellings leased or owned by the state. Fairground offices are furnished with a variety of office equipment, which normally consists of desks, tables, chairs, filing cabinets, storage cabinets, filing bins, computers, computer peripherals, phones, answering machines, and fax machines.

Incumbents must establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during the work; work well under pressure, make appropriate decisions and well-thought-out recommendations, and work independently in completing assigned work and meeting required deadlines. This position is eligible for telework in accordance with Department policy.
