Arthrex is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a professional to join our team in supporting software development and infrastructure. Strong communication, analytical skills, and technical project management are key for this position.

The ideal candidate can work in Santa Barbara but can also work remotely across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting and managing build systems for embedded Linux projects
  • Customizing Linux distributions using Yocto tools and recipes
  • Troubleshooting build issues timely
  • Researching and implementing new technologies for automation processes
  • Collaborating with developers to align operations with design and development
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards and advancements in embedded Linux development

Skills and Expertise:

  • Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Design and implementation leadership
  • Managing and implementing build pipelines
  • Administering and deploying tools and applications on Linux
  • Proactive communication skills
  • Cloud infrastructure management
  • Internal and external documentation creation
  • Coaching and mentoring junior engineers

Requirements:

  • Experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash
  • Proficiency in build tools and pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git
  • Working with Linux in production environments
  • Experience with container runtimes and orchestration tools like Docker or Kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Yocto and bitbake for embedded Linux systems
  • Deep understanding of Linux system configuration and package management
  • Agile/Scrum experience with JIRA
  • Knowledge of security tooling for software analysis and testing
  • Understanding of development methodologies and security/compliance in medical devices
