What is this role?

As a Senior Accountant at Cirkul you will have a supervisory role, reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager and will have a unique opportunity to contribute to a key area of growth for the company. You will be a member of a talented team and responsible for continuously improving our organization. You will need to be motivated, eager and passionate about accounting and financial reporting and excited to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role requires you to be a strong communicator with a solid work ethic and organizational skills. You should also be able to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within the team, across Finance and with business partners

What does an average day look like?
  • Driving Results: Prepare and review month-end close duties including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Taking Ownership: Create fixed asset policies and procedures, as well as templates for cross departmental usage. Perform monthly fluctuation analysis on the balance sheet and income statement. Speak effectively with management on findings and resolve issues on a timely basis. Play a key role in the interim and annual audit. Manage fixed asset records and processes, working with stakeholders at all levels to ensure accuracy.
  • Making Decisions: Identify and implement process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards to enhance workflow of the department and strengthen internal controls.
  • Cultivating Relationships: Serve as a supervisor and mentor to other Accountants and incoming interns, providing coaching and training as needed.
  • Instilling Trust: Assist marketing department to differentiate marketing costs through branding, creative, and inventory management. Collaborate with the Senior Accounting Manager on the preparation of timely and accurate financial reporting to be submitted to the Controller and VP of Finance Work closely with Cost Accounting to develop standard costing methodologies and monthly variance analysis.
  • Customer Focus: Respond to internal/external inquiries with customers, vendors, and auditors.
What background should you have?
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • At least 4+ years of experience in Accounting required
  • CPA required
  • Public accounting experience is a plus
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus
  • Highly proficient with Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Strong time management skills, ability to meet deadlines
  • Outstanding communication skills and able to maintain positive interactions with others
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
