Description

Position Purpose

Upholds the Credit Union's mission of "Doing the Right Thing" by providing Business Lending services to current and potential business members.

Includes a special focus on identifying and contacting potential business members to generate and maintain new commercial lending relationships. Examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of member business loan applications using established policies of the Credit Union. Analyzes business members' entire portfolio and matches them with products and services that fit their needs.
Works with current and potential business members to develop relationships and produce loan and deposit opportunities.
Gathers and analyzes information for loan application.
Presents loan application opportunities for approval.
Interactively works with dedicated support specialist, credit analysts and loan processing to accomplish tasks as needed.
Carries out operations to protect and uphold member privacy and secure information properly.
Develops new growth areas and improving sales through various methods.
Collaborates with teammates to ensure requirements are met, such as loan and deposit growth, referral and fee income goals.
Maintains a strong understanding of products and services and innovates new ways to serve businesses in northeast Wisconsin.

In the process of closing loans, ensures all loan paperwork is complete and accurate according to credit union policies, procedures, and regulations.

Actively attend meetings and training sessions to remain up to date and be responsible for policies, regulations, procedures, products, and legal requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies and regulations.

Voting member of Business Lending Committee
Performs other duties as assigned to assist others in completing tasks and work assignments.
Necessary Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field
Minimum five years commercial lending/business banking experience.
General office/administrative skills and experience. Ability to write reports, memos, and business letters.
Good math aptitude and attention to detail.
Proven sales experience in a related product or service
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, and ability to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely
Expert understanding of service and product, and ability to innovate new ways the product can serve customers
Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities
Innate drive to succeed and take initiative
Strong interpersonal/member relations skills including the ability to cross-sell credit union products and services.
Ability to project a professional image and practice professionalism in a financial environment.
Ability to interpret documents, define and solve problems, and make decisions.
Proven time management and organizational skills.
Ability to learn and use credit union computer systems and software.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
In office position; not remote. Must reside in Northeast Wisconsin.
Office/Outside work environment with desk assignment.
Occasional travel to other branch locations and businesses.
Minimal lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Frequent use of telephone, copier/scanner, and computer.
Prolonged sitting and frequent mental and visual concentration.
