Monitor the Telephone CPR Program as mandated in Act 578 of the 2018 Regular Session, provide assistance to various 911 call centers and dispatch services where T-CPR must be implemented.

Collaborate with local jurisdictional leaders of the communications districts or agencies providing public safe communication services to determine the unique emergency medical call taking needs of each parish and how the mandates of Action 578 can be met.

30% Monitor the Ambulance Operator Certification Program as mandated in Act 644 of the 2022 Regular Session.

Assist applicants with navigating the certification process, process applications in a timely manner and verify that Ambulance Operators do attempt to obtain a certification renewal as this is prohibited by law.

28% Coordinate and facilitate the submission of criminal background documents.

Review all federal and state criminal history reports received from Louisiana State Police and accurately update the appropriate accounts in the Information Management System.

Relative to applications in which the affirmative criminal background was disclosed, ensure that all required documents are received and complete before moving the application forward to the EMS Certification Commission.

COMMENTS

  • Flex-time may be required during a 40-hour work week which may include events and weekends.
  • Additional hours may be required in the event of a disaster or scheduled event.
  • Travel may be required to attend job-specific meetings, workshops and/or conferences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


A baccalaureate degree plus two years of professional level experience in administrative services, economics, public health, public relations, social services, health services, or surveying and/or assessing health or social service programs or facilities for compliance with state and federal regulations.


SUBSTITUTIONS:
Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree.

Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows:

A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.

30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.

60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
