The primary responsibility of the Account Specialist is to service clients and manage a self-funded book of business with set roles and responsibilities to assist the account team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive incoming calls from clients and prospects; provide outstanding customer service as well as quote coverages
  • Maintain quality customer service with clients daily by providing consistent, timely and accurate service
  • Create and send proof of insurance for clients, lienholders, and other interested parties, as well as order ID cards
  • Monitor incoming faxes; process changes, additions, and deletions, as well as process new applications
  • Meet new and renewal or project deadlines as set between you and your Leader
  • Demonstrate the ability to expand knowledge by assuming new responsibilities in the department or working on department projects
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information
  • Attend market or client discovery meetings, planning workshops, client progress meetings and /or stewardship meetings
  • Review incoming applications and changes received via email, phone, fax, or mail and completed accurately and timely where applicable
  • Input applications and change information into client management systems on a timely basis where applicable
  • Prepare renewal spreadsheets where applicable
  • Complete paperwork associated with clients on a timely basis as established by agency standards
  • Prepare or assist in new policy delivery; evaluated by turnaround reports
  • Handle invoicing accurately and work with the finance or Account Manager on account discrepancies and in researching overpayment checks
  • Support quoting for new business, when applicable
  • Assist with client renewal process and update agency management system

CREDENTIALS

  • High School diploma or GED required, 2 or 4-year degree preferred
  • One year of customer service experience is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic PowerPoint functions
  • Ability to obtain appropriate licenses within 60 days of employment
