Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist person must have the ability to process invoices for payment utilizing a purchase order system in an accurate and timely manner for multiple company locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Responsible to process invoices/credits for payment/deduction within timeframe determined by each vendors' terms.
  2. Responsible for completing all transaction involving the branches assigned
  3. Must identify, research, and resolve invoice variances
  4. Utilize various Eclipse reports to identify and solve PO clearing issues
  5. Ability to email, fax, prepare correspondence, and scan documents
  6. Ability to create notification documents using Microsoft Excel
  7. Ability to handle additional responsibilities to include functioning as backup for AP Manager when requested

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Well organized person with strong administrative and good interpersonal skills. A person who is with strong ethics, dependable & flexible, that can work independently.

Education & Experience

High School diploma w/ 3-4 years Accounting experience

A minimum of two (2) years' experience handling data entry in a volume capacity.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  1. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering invoices/credits
  2. The ability to work in a fast paced environment and ability to multi-task
  3. Keyboard skills to include the use of 10-key entry
  4. Must be able to organize and prioritize workloads
  5. Must be able to work independently
  6. Must be a Team Player
