  • Position Summary: The Cook is responsible for providing tasty and nutritious meals to children, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices from a young age to set them up for success in the future.
  • Essential Duties:
    • Prepare and serve all meals and snacks at the Early Childhood site
    • Follow Children's Aid menus and recipes
    • Place food requisitions weekly
    • Receive food deliveries and manage inventory
    • Participate in Healthy Cooking workshops for families
    • Engage with parent volunteers in the kitchen
    • Participate in professional development activities
  • Minimum Qualifications: Must hold a valid Department of Health Food Handler's License issued by New York State. Education requirements include IEP/Local/HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Ability to read and follow recipes
    • Excellent cooking skills
    • Experience managing a food service program
    • Interest in healthy eating
    • Effective communication and resourcefulness
  • At least 1-year experience working with infants, toddlers, and children with Special Needs
  • Passionate about working with young children and families
