Collins Aerospace is actively seeking a Principal Specialist, Procurement Specialist to join our team onsite in Windsor Locks, CT.

The Procurement Specialist is a strategic role where you will lead, participate, analyze and manage Procurement related projects and activities for their respective Product Lines.

You will be a focal point for the Operations Lead for all Procurement related activities involved with the Product Line.


What You Will Do:

  • Act as the primary liaison representing the supply chain organization and the processes within by interfacing with manufacturing, procurement, quality or other technical personnel to advise them on priority.
  • Attend and participate in the high level program weekly meetings as the Procurement Representative.
  • Attend SIOP meetings and contribute to the discussion regarding supplier deliveries and critical shortages.
  • Review a high volume and/or variety of materials, supplies and services.
  • Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies. Exert some influence on the overall objectives and longrange goals of the organization. Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Forward looking for trends, supplier risks, drop in demands, and material shortage increases.
  • Plan schedule and arrange own activities in accomplishing standard work and objectives.
  • Analyze root causes to lead resolution to a permanent fix that will mitigate a repeat of overdue deliveries.
  • Lead a strategic effort to find solutions to ongoing issues that prevent Buyers from placing purchase orders.
  • Network and interact with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
  • Normally receives mínimal instruction on daytoday work or general instructions on new assignments.
  • Utilize ERP systems and processes to manage the outcome for assigned program.
  • This is an ONSITE position located in Windsor Locks, CT

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience
    or **an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
    or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • SAP experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Procurement
  • Self directed professional able to work with mínimal direction, keeping leadership and stakeholders informed.
