Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Vice President will oversee business development efforts for the organization, specifically focusing on the generic pharmaceutical sector. Responsibilities will include identifying and assessing potential opportunities, collaborating with strategic partners, and driving the business development pipeline to meet financial and performance targets. This role is pivotal in shaping the organization's future commercial strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Formulate strategies and uncover business prospects to combat drug shortages.
- Lead the business development strategy ensuring optimal utilization of Civica's manufacturing capacity.
- Evaluate the product portfolio in alignment with member hospitals' requirements, in conjunction with the Vice President of Portfolio Management.
- Cultivate enduring relationships with strategic partners and member hospitals.
- Leverage data analysis and market research for informed decision-making.
- Exhibit behaviors aligned with Civica's core values and guiding principles.
Minimum 20 years of relevant industry experience, with a strong background in Business Development within the generic pharmaceutical sector and allied fields like Supply Chain, Marketing, R&D, and Pharmacy. A bachelor's degree is essential, while a master's degree is preferred. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, strategic thinking abilities, and proficiency in prospecting, negotiating, and contracting. The role demands expertise in market landscape analysis, partner identification, and cross-functional team leadership.
Moreover, the VP must be a proactive self-starter with robust work ethics, capable of independently exploring new opportunities and structuring deals effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and databases such as IQVIA is required, along with a readiness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
